Laurie Harper-Burgess is mother to son Gifford. She taught for over 20 years as a trained Waldorf kindergarten teacher. She recently took her LifeWays training at Rose Garden, Buffalo. Currently she offers childcare in her home for young, mostly preschool age children. She sees herself as a lifelong student of Anthroposophy. Her role in LifeWays Ontario is as a founding member, pedagogical guide and secretary of the Board.
Arlene Thorn is mother to son Hartt and daughter Logan and grandmother to Angus. She worked for ten years at the Toronto Waldorf School in community development and seven years in adult education at the Rudolf Steiner Centre Toronto. In 2010, she co-founded My Child Myself www.mychildmyself.ca which offers programs for inner parenting. She offers summer training intensives to be an adult educator www.newadultlearning.com. She is excited to be working with Little Lions Waldorf Daycare in Thunder Bay, Ontario offering inner development programs for their supervisors and a monthly Waldorf ECE training. Currently she is taking LifeWays Ontario professional development programs and is Chair of the Board.
Elena Ivanova came to Canada from Russia with her husband and twin sons in 2001. After pursuing her profession as a controller for 3 years she decided to start her own bookkeeping practice. She is a certified professional bookkeeper and certified Distinguished Financial Advisor serving individuals, small and medium size businesses. In 2006 Elena completed the Foundation Studies program at Rudolf Steiner Centre. In 2009 her daughter Elizabeth joined their family and turned Elena’s attention to a deeper approach in upbringing the child. She attended My Child Myself programs and by the time she needed childcare her husband and she choose an anthroposophical approach.
